Most people in public office have skeletons on their closet. They live in fear of that closet door being opened and those skeletons exposed. But when they dare run for high office, those skeletons usually start knocking from the inside.

Such it is with Obama, the media darling and great divider of Democratic politics. His 20 year relationship with the reverend Jeremiah Wright is fifty-caliber ammunition that can be used by Hillary now or McCain later to reign in his chances. The first most stinging criticism comes from former house speaker Newt Gingrich himself:

After all, it was Sen. Obama himself who set the standard. As Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby noted, “When Don Imus uttered his infamous slur on the radio last year, Obama cut him no slack. Imus should be fired, he said. ‘There’s nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group.’”

It may very well be that Obama’s lack of government experience was his strong point as he goes against 30 year incumbent John McCain. But his lack of integrity and diametric positions (and experiences) with military affairs will prove a gaping vulnerability.

In the meantime… Hillary vs Obama is going to be such fun to watch.
